More a witches A.G.M. than occult occurrence, this festival gathers hundreds of witches, shamans, healers and other spiritualists from all over Mexico to perform ceremonies to rid themselves of another years worth of negative energy. Ceremonies have been taking place here since 1970 and gradually the rest of the town realised what a source of entertainment it can be and now Catemaco in March is busy with visitors as well as witches.
