The Calle Ocho Carnaval

Miami's Calle Ocho is the culmination of two weeks of the largest Hispanic carnival in the world, with over a million people attending. The basis for this gathering is a celebration of Latin music and community spirit, with top Latino artists and groups performing at stages and sound systems throughout the area. Spanning over 23 blocks in the heart of Little Havana, the event also includes a kids zone for families, hundreds of food stalls and kiosks, and many companies who take advantage of the crowds and offer free samples to promote their products.
The sounds of Salsa, Merengue, Reggaeton and more fill the air and the streets, and swinging hips are unavoidable. 2008 marks the 30th anniversary of this event and should be the busiest and most spectacular year yet. Make sure you've got on your dancing shoes, and don't forget your sunblock- this event is always hot, hot, hot!
