Also known as Honeycomb House, this entire structure is based around the hexagon, with no squares in sight. The Hannas commissioned this building from Wright, who had dabbled with geometric shapes already in his designs, besides squares and rectangles. The property is banked on a hill, behind a brick wall with a terrace, and hidden by mature oaks he carefully worked his design around. This is taken as one of his finest works, as there is copious fenestration and sky lighting, but without giving the feeling of it being too open. With each wall being easily able to be moved, the adaptability of the space allowed for changing the internal structure once the Hanna children had flown the nest.
