Little more need be said of this landmark than that the American Institute of Architects named it ‘Building of the Century’ in 2000. Frank Lloyd Wright’s masterpiece is a mind-shattering example of living in tune with nature; waterfall underfoot (literally), fireplace carved out of the rock around which the house is built. Large windows bring the forest inside, the interior design harmonizing perfectly, still unchanged from the day it was built. The ‘Great Room’ even has stairway access to the stream below, so one can dip his or her feet in fresh mountain stream. Ideal Feng Shui principles are evident, despite Wright’s unawareness of the subject.
