Akiyoshi-do is Japan's most impressive show cave. Located in far western Honshu, the section of the 9 km long cave that is open to the public includes a river passage, a variety of beautiful speleothems (including one called "Octopus Climbing a Waterfall"), and the world's most spectacular expanse of rimstone dams. The latter makes this cave a must-see for speleophiles.
