Warwick Castle, on the River Avon, has roots dating back to 914 and Alfred the Great's ongoing problems with pesky Danes. Generations of the Beauchamp family built the castle as we know it today, before it came under the ownership of the Earl of Warwick. Now owned by the Tussard group, it's a major tourist attraction in an area steeped in history.
