The and of the Canyonlands National Park has been eroded into numerous canyons and buffs, mazes and spiked rock towers. The park, created over millennia by the retreating inland oceans, is coloured red by the limestone and sediment left in their wake and the rock formations are striped, cut and fascinating in their all natural design. Although very dry the park is susceptible to further dramatic erosion caused by flash flooding because there is very little plant life to hold the soil together. This is a great place for photographers and people who enjoy exploring new terrain - the land is like no other. Official Canyonlands National Park Website
