Longitude 131° provides much welcomed luxury in the harsh landscape of the Australian outback. Set in Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, deluxe tents are expertly designed to keep one cool in the scorching summer and warm in the winter. Inside the tent, white linen, king sized beds and electric blinds make it easy to forget the inhospitable landscape outside. The camp only has 12 tents and can accommodate a maximum of 30 guests which means a relatively peaceful stay. Sunrises over Ayers Rock are breathtaking, the desert reflecting the vibrant colours of daybreak. Tours can take you to the nearby natural attractions like Walpa Gorge, Ayers Rock and the Olgas. The summer in the outback can bring on temperatures hitting 50°.Winter is slightly cooler although nights can become a bit chilly. Easily accessible from Ayers Rock airport, the campsite is open all year.
