Stay in a Navajo Hogan

Made from red desert earth and juniper logs, a Navajo hogan is the ultimate in eco-accommodation - nothing more than a dome-shaped bump in a sweeping desert landscape, with very minimal facilities. Navajo country reaches across Arizona, Utah and New Mexico, and has a rich heritage based around the Navajo respect for and harmonious relationship with nature, which is immediately apparent even today. Exploration on foot or by four wheel drive fills the days, and evenings are spent listening to traditional Navajo music, eating fresh taco dinners, telling stories round the campfire or just gazing across the desert in the heavenly silence.
