Question about Keramas Surfing

Guys if you go to Bali for surfing just book the flight! Go to Kuta, rent a motorbike with surfracks, it should be around 35.000 rupias a day, rent a board in Kuta it will be cheaper, then go south look at Balangan, Padang, Uluwatu, Greenball, choose a spot and stay there! There are full of Bungalows near the spots you can rent. Don't take any lessons just go there and try, you will always find nice people telling you the basics! Ciao Pippo

Thanks for the encouraging advice, Pippo - Did you have any particular spots to recommend? We're going this year and there are four of us including one beginner and one guy who goes out quite a bit. Thanks!

Hi Emily...well it depends when you are going. I came back this monday and I was surfing in Balangan, Padang and Uluwatu. These are all reef breaks, so as long as waves are not more than 1.5 meter high, and you know how to fall to avoid getting scretches on the rocks the places are perfect. I'm not an experienced surfer I began few months ago. If you go there from June on these same spots will probably be too hard for the beginner... maybe write me a mail at filosurf(at)gmail.com I will tell you more. Ciao

Thanks. We were thinking of going in August so I wonder what the conditions will be like then - did you make any local friend who I could get in touch with? How many days did you spend at each place? We have two weeks do you think that's enough?
