Aspen's quieter neighbour, Snowmass is the biggest of the resorts in the Four Mountain ski area, offering the greatest diversity of terrain of the four resorts.
Beginners will enjoy the hundreds of acres of beginner trails, whilst the bus links to the beginner-friendly Buttermilk expands the choice of suitable skiing yet further. Snowmass remains the most suitable of the mountains for intermediates, whilst the selection of steep terrain appeals to experts, who may also take advantage of the bus links to the other three nearby resorts, Aspen in particular, to further the choice of skiing on offer.
This family friendly resort offers a quieter aprés-ski than Aspen, with restaurants and bars offering a largely relaxed evening. The predominantly uncrowded pistes add to the allure of the resort, as do the impressive selection of mountain restaurants and good lift system.
