The United Arab Emirates has become an increasingly popular tourist destination in recent years due to the extravagant reputation of Dubai, but experienced travellers realize that there’s more to the UAE. In recent years the UAE has been quickly evolving to accommodate Western visitors - the new hotels make it feel safe and comfortable for travellers who might generally shy away from this region, or at least be wary of leaving the confines of the Dubai “resort.”

Visitors won’t really get a feel for the UAE unless they explore further. So go on, watch camel races in Abu Dhabi - or ride one yourself - bargain in the souqs, tan on the beaches, before scuba diving round the coral reefs of the gulf, or dance in a club as a DJ spins all night, stopping just in time for morning prayer call.
