Sydney is a city described in vibrant colours: bronzed skin, gilt drenching sunshine, yellow beaches, white sails and all the shimmering shades of blue and green of the harbour. But it's the energy and flavours of the place as well as the setting that make this a destination worth visiting. Cosmopolitan by anyone's standards, laid back and relaxed by international standards yet dynamic by Australian standards, Sydney has something to attract everyone; the harbour, surrounding beaches and the grey green peace of the interior are just the wealthy backdrop to a city of commerce, sport, cuisine and culture. There's no one reason to visit Sydney, the arts scene is healthy and challenging, the shopping good, the architecture an interesting but not breathtaking blend of old and new, the nightlife glistening but it's the combination of all of these parts that makes this a city worth flying so far to spend time in.
