Switzerland

Harry Lime's famous quip about the cuckoo clock (what have the swiss to show for 500 years of peace and prosperity?) seems unfair today, when they are smashing atoms into each other beneath Geneva at CERN to see how the world began. Switzerland, like Austria, is most popular for skiers, but the alps in summer are well worth breaking your travel habits for. Clean, efficient and stunningly beautiful, Switzerland should be on everyone's list of top ten destinations.
