Although relatively remote, Steamboat continues to attract visitors with its copious 'champagne powder'. Despite its low altitude compared with other Colorado resorts, Steamboat boasts an excellent snow record with an average snowfall of nearly 30 feet every season. In fact, after Aspen and Vail, Steamboat is the biggest ski area in Colorado, with six mountain peaks ensuring an array of skiing on offer. Steamboat is excellent for beginners, with a beginner's terrain located at the base of the mountain. However, intermediates will also enjoy a trip tp Steamboat, with 56% of routes suitable for intermediates, whilst experts can wnjoy the powder, double backs, chutes and bowls on offer. The bars and restaurants on offer as part of the resort's aprés-ski are in line with its Western atmosphere. There is a wide choice of off-mountain activities, predominantly comprised of alternative sports.
