Venice Beach holds a number of beauties within its grasp: sun bathing on

top of roasting beige sand, below a cloudless electric blue sky, and beside

a bikini laden 50-year-old with skin like a designer hand bag. After

spending a few hours bronzing and taking a couple of cruises up and down the

beach to people watch, it's time to trek towards the boardwalk, dodging

bodies along the way. Stop to watch street performances of magic, art, and

dance - but don’t stand too close because the performers love audience

participation. Just one of many beaches reclining along the coast of

California, Venice Beach attracts both the City of Angels locals and

tourists looking for a day in the sun and a little live entertainment at the

same time.

Los Angeles in more than miles of beaches though, and a trip into

down town LA will reveal museums and architecture awaiting perusal,

including work from Wright, Gehry, and Greene & Greene. Spend a day

celebrity stalking in the Hollywood Hills and Bel Air, immersed in a culture

which epitomizes beauty and wealth above all else, and snap a picture of the

Hollywood sign over looking the city, nestled in the

hills.
