The Baltic wind will nip at you as you walk through the city of Liepaja, the place where many Latvians believe the wind begins. Its howl may be the inspiration for the music capital of the Baltic Sea coast, but it could equally be the 500 kilometres of white sandy coastline. Test the theory with an evening at the Liepaja symphony orchestra followed by a night in one of the restaurants or bars of the city centre, then a midnight stroll along the beach.
