Laos is not only the most undeveloped and untouched of all the South East Asian countries, but the most laid-back too. Its capital, Vientiane encapsulates Laos' essence quite perfectly; it feels more like a big, friendly village compared to its bustling and busy metropolitan counterparts that can be found throughout the rest of the South East Asia.

Laos is a forgotten gem. Its isolation means that the visitor can immerse themselves into the mystifying surroundings, consisting of gorgeous mountains, rivers, forests, and lush jungles. The natural landscape is quiet, and undisturbed, and you're more likely to bump into an elephant than a bundle of squabbling tourists on your travels.
