The 'jewel' of East Africa, Kenya is a country of beautiful landscapes on what many consider to be the earth's harshest continent. It is a startlingly beautiful land, from the coral reefs and white beach sands of the coast to the summit of Mount Kenya, with its crown of clouds.

In between these two extremes is the rolling savannah, home to game parks such as Amboseli, the Masai Mara, Samburu and Tsavo and the agricultural highlands with their green coats of coffee and tea plantations. There's also the impressive stretch of the Great Rift Valley, a deep scar across the face of Africa.

Kenya is like a giant real-life theme park, with one-tenth of its land designated as national parks and reserves and just about every African plain dwelling animal at home here. The Masai Mara is where you'll get to see lion prides hunting and elephants, buffalos, zebras and hippo roaming casually.
