Genoa is an authentic Italian city where you won’t feel like a tourist while visiting. Located on the northwest coast of Italy in the Liguria region, Genoa is a city with a strong maritime influence. Genoa claims to be the birthplace of Christopher Columbus and it’s possible to visit what is believed to be one of his homes. This city also boasts the second largest aquarium in Europe, a must see while visiting. Also check out the black and white marble façade of the 13th century San Lorenzo Cathedral.
