Despite the gorgeous physical similarities, the Dominican Republic is a lot more than the poor man’s Puerto Rico it’s been thought of in the past. Yes, the beach resorts are some of the cheapest in the Caribbean and the green mountains unfurl to the sugary white sand of the coast with a similar charm, but this country has a Latin lovers culture all of its own in contrast with the European influenced islands that the aqua ocean that surrounds it are littered with.
Much of what Columbus first spotted in 1493 has been left lush and the resorts that have sprung up over the last few decades hug long pale beaches.
Best things to do in the Dominican Republic are to take advantage of the perfect white beaches of the Caribbean’s best priced resorts and appreciate the beauty of nature.
