Weave amongst Delhi’s streets, around the beggars and businessmen, through the ever-present traffic, and into a city grappling with the presence of ten million people - a metropolis that can’t help but expand. The streets are jammed with cars, animals (especially cows), street sellers and their wares, local people rushing about and stray tourists, and navigating between the skyscrapers of New Delhi can prove a challenge. While in the business centre of the city, eat at a four star restaurants, or have a drink at a bar crawling with suits, relaxing after a hectic day, then catch a Bollywood film at one of the many cinemas in the city’s heart.
Spend the next day exploring the ruins of Delhi’s past - before it became a huge metropolis bursting at the seams with people, potential, and power - head south to the oldest part of the city, where the six previous parent cities once stood. Explore the ruins of Tughluqabad and Qutb Minar and then see Humayun's Tomb and Safdarjung's Tomb, all a part of south Delhi. Head back towards Old Delhi and stand in front of the Red Fort in awe then walk on a little further to become awestruck by the Jama Masjid, Delhi’s most majestic masque. In the chaos of an overflowing city, peace and calm can be discovered at the sacred sites of Delhi.
