Perfect for intermediates, Davos is comprised of five mountains, offering a huge variety of ski areas. The nursery slopes offer beginners an opportunity to gain confidence, whilst there is a choice of long, gentle routes spread across the resort. The off-piste itineraries provide more advanced skiers with a test, counteracting the limited number of difficult pistes. The unimaginative architecture harms the resort's atmosphere, whilst the presence of five distinct ski areas can result in a disjointed experience. Non-skiers will appreciate the vast sports facilities, whilst there is also a wide selection of shops. The typically elder clientele result in a quiet nightlife, although there are bars and nightclubs to be found. The problem of lift queues has been reduced significantly in recent years.
