Walking through the main plaza of Cuzco you’ll see ancient Incan architecture at the base of modern tourist hotels next to tacky souvenir shops. The unavoidable city in Peru is crowded with tourists just about year round and yet the culture of its Incan past shows through the tourists and their cameras.

Explore Incan ruins, then head to a casino, and then admire local pottery and hand-made jewellery followed by a meal of American fast food.

You can’t escape the past of Incan rulers and Spanish conquistadors who once ruled over the land, however modernization is never far from sight.
