Copenhagen

Copenhagen is called the cosy city. Not just because hygge (‘cosiness') is a typical Danish trait, but because, though large, it's extremely compact - you can walk from one major attraction to the next. But if you're not into walking, the city transportation system is efficient and safe, and it is only a short ride to open countryside and sandy beaches. Copenhagen appeals to all ages - the young can enjoy fair rides and pantomime theatre at the Tivoli Gardens, while stylish restaurants and bustling nightlife satisfy an older crowd. Whether relaxing near the water or shopping for Danish treats and viewing street performers on Strøget, there's a huge amount going on throughout the year.
