Follow a cobblestone path beside a canal on a warm summer

afternoon passing by open air café’s, their jazz music drifting through the

patrons scattered among chairs and tables and out onto the water. Continue

towards the city centre and find a swimming pool crowded with people

enjoying the last bits of sun as it sinks below the copper spires and dusk

sets in, cooling the air and bringing even more people into the heart of

Copenhagen. Within a mile of the city centre hundreds of restaurants are

serving the new and improved Dutch cuisine which has taken over the city in

the last few years. Experimental chiefs and up-and-coming restaurants have

given traditional Dutch food a run for its money and both the locals and the

tourists are enjoying the tasty new creations.

Locals are finally beginning to see what all the tourists have

known about Copenhagen for years, and that realisation has injected a new

energy into the city and continued to raise the local standard of

living. Meander through the streets or hop on the public transport to make it to the National Museum and the National Gallery and then spend an evening drinking wine and listening to Jazz music either on the street or in a cosy café.
