Not as good as I expected...

Actually quite disappointing. The cathedral is impressive, but the rest of the city centre was pretty must destroyed in World War 2, and now consists of just bland modern buildings and shops.

Yes, but what a cathedral! You also obviously missed Meister Wurst in the railway station, selling Mettwurst in a bun, the best boiled pork sausage anywhere in Europe. And the majestic Rhine... Give Cologne time and it will charm you.

I once took a bunch of American visitors here. They were on a tour tracing their 'bombing run' from WW2. As you can imagine, they were very impressed by what they saw in Cologne!
