Cambodia was first famous for its splendid temples. Yet as time passes, this perception of the country is beginning to change - and for the better.

The temples are an excellent starting point for any visitor of Cambodia. The temples of Angkor, a world heritage site, are the most well known and fairest in all the land. Rising out of the jungle, the spectacular temples prove that 9th Century architecture has just as much wow power as modern constructions. The temples are so fascinating because they really do hold the key to Cambodia's history; including its myths, its architecture, its decorations and its religious heritage.

There is a wealth to discover beyond the temples, so look further. Over the last ten years Cambodia has become a relatively safe country to explore. Political changes are responsible for the influx of tourists who are not only interested in the temples, but the country as a whole. And quite a whole it is. Amazing!

Siem Reip should be at the top of everyones to see list. When you get off the bus be prepared! You will be swarmed by tuk tuk drivers trying to drag you and your bags into their cart. (I kind of felt like a rock star) Just pick one quickly and the chaos and grabbing subsides quickly. If you are a morning person, which I am not but was for a day, I highly recommend watching the sun rise over the temples of Angkor what. It is nothing less than magical.
