Now you see it... and now you don't.
larapiegeler
Is the sun hiding from us? Or is it just not putting the effort in? Either way, the love-hate relationship we have always had with our weather seems to be erring towards the latter sentiment now, as the so-called Summer draws to a close. Could it be time to accept that having our umbrellas violently inverted by rogue gusts of wind and our lower regions sloshed with tyre-propelled puddle water is a sign that Autumn has come early? I for one have relinquished my sandals and am planning for the season of mists and other inclement conditions. Here’s my list of where to find mellow fruitfulness!

What's your inspiration?
larapiegeler
Ahead of our fast-approaching 2008 re-launch, we’ve developed an exceptionally clever new search facility, to help our users find precisely what suits them, rather than making them browse through another list of ‘essential things to do before you die’. It’s particularly ingenious because not only can you choose between categories such as ‘Thrills’, ‘Natural Wonders’ and ‘Culture’ according to your personality quirks and crazes of the moment, but you can also pick which part of the world you’d prefer, the length of time you want to fly and the climate you’d like to holiday in. Your final search result will include a healthy mixture of classic, alternative and obscure experiences, so you’re as likely to fall in love with a place you’ve never heard of as learn more about a famous one. Simply go to our home page and select the ‘Inspire Me’ tab at the top to find your own bespoke collection of experiences and destinations.

Products from Elsewhere
larapiegeler
Alternative gifts are all the rage for the 21st Century Christmas, so if you’re looking for something to give that the recipient definitely won’t already have (and that isn’t an iPhone) you need to source internationally, and/or from small businesses… cue our ‘Products from Elsewhere’ section – a rapidly (but cautiously!) expanding selection of products that are impossible, or at least monstrously difficult, to find in the shops at home. Expect tasty seasonal treats, enchanting traditional Christmas decorations and products with history and national significance, all available on-line. Some have less-than-slick websites, others don’t have an English translation, but they’re all based in their product’s country of origin and all use original or traditional methods, materials and ideas. So, if you’re too busy to spend Autumn on a truffle-hunting course in the forests of Italy, or can’t quite make it to Grasse to mix your own natural flower perfume, this is the page for you…

The Promising Start
larapiegeler
I’m thoroughly delighted to be able to trumpet our achievement as being rated in the Times Online’s top fifty travel sites for 2007 - ‘a year of innovation and refinement’ in travel websites, as they quite rightly mention! We’re labelled as one to watch for 2008, and the ‘promising start’ they credit us with is the beginning of something huge and quite unique – our collection of expert content (ranging from the iconic to the downright weird) is growing exponentially. The more experiences we cover, the more we discover…
